Yangtze River
Winding about 3,964 miles, Yangtze River is the largest in China and the third largest in the world after the Nile in Africa and the Amazon in South America. Originating from the Tanggula Range in Qinghai Province in western China, it traverses eleven provinces and cities from west to east, including Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, Yunnan, Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu and Shanghai. Finally it pours into the East China Sea at Shanghai.
Acting as the largest water system in China, Yangtze River is historically, economically and culturally important to the country. It has numerous tributaries including Min River, Han River, Jialing River, Gan River and Huangpu River etc. The Three Gorges Dam on the river is the largest dam project and hydro-electric power station in the world. Generally, people consider the river a dividing line between North China and South China. Areas to the north and the south of the river have many differences in climate, scenery, economics, culture and folk customs.

Morning take bullet train to Yichang,
Take a shuttle transfer from the Yichang Central Cruise Terminal to the nearby Maoping pier to embark on your Victoria ship (shuttle operates 4:30 pm–9:00 pm on a first come first serve basis)
D3 Yangze River Cruiser (B/L/D)
Three Gorges Dam/Xiling Gorge – Visit the Three Gorges Dam, which spans the Yangtze River at Sandouping in Xiling Gorge. It is the world’s largest power station. Later today, sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles) and deepest of the Three Gorges. (B, L, D)
Additional optional excursions available (river conditions permitting) to the Tribe of the Three Gorges or Hometown of Qu Yuan, offering Interesting glimpses into the culture and history of the Xiling Gorge region, and through the recently-completed unique ship lock with a ship lift, the world’s largest; it will be transited in about 40 minutes to an hour.
DAY 4 Yangze River Cruiser (B/L/D)
“Small Gorges”/Wu Gorge/Qutang Gorge – Transfer to another vessel for an excursion through Shennong Stream small gorges, which are narrower than the Three Gorges, but very impressive. Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to the gorges of Goddess Stream. Enter the 25-mile long Wu Gorge, known for its quiet beauty, forest covered mountains, and cliffs so sheer that the sun barely penetrates the precipices. Then sail through Qutang Gorge, the shortest (5 miles), narrowest (500 feet), and most dramatic gorge. (B, L, D)
Additional optional shore excursions (river conditions permitting) to White Emperor City (daytime), an ancient city overlooking the western end of Qutang Gorge, and a performance of the acclaimed hi-tech spectacle ”Return to the Three Gorges” (evening).
DAY 5 Yangze River Cruiser (B/L/D)
Jade Emperor Scenic Area – Take a shore excursion to the Jade Emperor Scenic Area near Fengdu, which has the largest image of the Jade Buddha in the world. Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to Shibaozhai, with its impressive wooden pagoda. (B, L, D)
Additional optional shore excursion (river conditions permitting) to Fengdu’s “Ghost City”, known for its statues of ghosts and devils on Mingshan Hill.
DAY 6 Chongqing/Chengdu (B/L/D)
Arrive Chongqing – 9:00am: Disembark at picturesque Chongqing, the “Mountain City”.
Get off the cruiser and our guide and drive meet you,
you will visit Ciqikou Ancient Town, People square, Riverside Road
then take bullet train back to Chengdu.
D7 Chengdu (B/L/D)
A day trip to the Leshan Buddha is easily made from Chengdu. This is the largest Buddha in the world, located in a beautiful park setting in Leshan, about a two-hour drive from Chengdu. The Giant Buddha, known as Dafo by the Chinese, is carved on the side of the hill, where he sits tall 71 meters high (233 feet) overlooking the river. It took more than 90 years to carve, and is now one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Then you will visit Jinli which is one of the oldest and the busiest streets in Chengdu in history, and has got its reputation nationwide since the Qin and Han Dynasties and the Three-kingdom Period. Evening you will enjoy Hotpot.
